Tinuku ~ Studio Airmas Asri apply material Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GRC) since the drop off area in front lobby pyramidal in Hotel Ananta located behind the Legian Beach, Bali.

Ananta Legian Hotel built on the site of rectangular and narrow due to the lack of land availability led to the hotel building enclosed by other buildings and not visible from the beach. The ocean view was difficult to be enjoyed from inside hotel area.

However, lack of access to the beach has been solved by beauty of lobby luxury building with carved floral welcome visitors in area since the drop-off before vehicle parked to basement, which was designed by architect Airmas Asri.

Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GRC) presents beauty of ornate carvings various Balinese architectural elements such as statues, banners, umbrellas and yellow coconut decoration for welcoming visitors in front of the pyramid-shaped lobby.

Lobby building constructed using steel frame covered with secondary skin glass filters sunlight in form of GRC patterned ethnic Balinese carvings. Pyramid with blunted peak was inspired by shape and characteristics of glass crafts and traditional Balinese flower ornaments.

Ornaments translated into traditional element emphasized by Patra Sari, a painting made by local artist I Wayan Lungguh, in lobby building. Painting is more than just interior accents, but also strong sense philosophical elements.

Painting converted into carving handmade with GRC material and applied throughout lobby as secondary skin and serves to filter out heat sunlight. Structural steel frame to pin two layers are glass engraving on inside and outside.

Creative genius architect team successfully blends Balinese carvings on media. Truncated pyramid becomes unique and graceful refracts out of building by revealing patterned carvings Bali.

Glass and carvings separated as wide space 50 centimeters for maintenance. Coating system creates aesthetic effect of three-dimensional carving GRC and shady atmosphere in building. Designed with gate open and glass layer serves as natural ventilation to prevent overheating.

When night, the lobby flooded with light as lantern carved beautiful. Lobby also intended as focal point and front facade building. Hotel arranged a simple U-shaped with corner on left side to create more dynamic flavor.

An open spot in the middle hotel acted as public facilities include a swimming pool, restaurant, coffee shop and meeting rooms. The pool and pavilion located on axis lobby so visitors feel welcomed with water to describe atmosphere around.

A large staircase placed on same axis to connect lobby and public facilities in semi-basement floor. Ladder designed to encourage visitors to experience atmosphere of ceremonial normally reserved for great pastors Bali.

Elements water translates into pool, four frangipani trees and artificial waterfall to create experience more strongly in narrow space. Steel frame covered with vines to create green wall. The place is open creates relieving and friendly atmosphere to guests.
