Concept disclosed five seats smaller than Golf, but interior space larger than Passat. The extra space made possible by electric motor does not include a gas tank or diesel engine, while large battery pack hidden in floor.

The concept presents platform to be easily affixed to all kinds of VW vehicles. Adjustments and modifications depending on usage such as the motor zise, battery and even the body can be easily attached and production for several different sectors car market.

Smaller vehicles have range of targets about 250 miles, while Sports Utility Vehicles with larger battery space most likely to achieve target of 372 miles. The new vehicle all fit under Strategy 2025 VW during next nine years.

"Electric mobility is a key item for future and believe VW became a major player in this field. We see challenge to do this in a short time," said Jurgen Stackmann, VW's sales and marketing director.

Battery flat and space-saving with energy of 92.4 kWh integrated into almost entire floor of vehicle. Power systems two electric motors drive both axles to produce power up to 225 kW mechanical systems.

Battery can charged by plugging into electric socket or by inductive charging through floor. On the power of 150 kW, 80 percent battery charged after about 30 minutes. All-wheel drive system provides BUDD-e top speed 180 km per hour and acceleration from zero to 100 km per hour in 6.9 seconds.
