Tinuku ~ Government of Yogyakarta build giant solar clock as an icon in the cliff face Baron Technopark in Baron Beach, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. A design of the building to show the time comprised a leaning tower that allows the sun's shadow falls on the numbers on the round surface.

Yogyakarta government has built an icon for an educational complex Baron Technopark in Gunung Kidul hilly landscape which is implemented in the form of a natural clock building. The building is designed circular and a tower to produce sundial and pointing at the row of numbers below.

Baron Technopark complex is built in remote location by the government to educate the public about the importance of using renewable energy. Various facilities are solar panels, wind turbines and diesel-fueled engine research complete vegetable oil with biofuel plant nursery.

The sundial was built at the site of most high to allow maximum sunlight reach. The visitors had to pass through the trail and climb on top of limestone hills to the south coast cliffs where non-machine timer built overlooking Indian Ocean.

A raw material of concrete tower 10 meters high, shaped like clockwork and was designed tilted towards the South Pole to create a shadow when it is exposed to sunlight. The shadow will be created and moving from west to east along the rotation of the earth to sun.

Twelve roman numeral lettered constructed using concrete materials built on flat surface and circular. When sunlight hitting the building towers casting shadows to indicate the numbers provided on surface of clock.



"Mechanism of sundial all same, but here in location that has beautiful views, go to the open sea," said Ridwan Budi Prasetyo, Division Head of Management Baron Technopark.

The designers using concrete materials for all construction and avoid metal material to maintain accuracy under conditions of heat and cold. Decoration materials using natural stones are round and laid out around the area inscription numbers.

Baron Technopark built in 2011 at cost of US$ 750,000 grant from NORAD is a central area of technology assessment and training of renewable energy power plants and educational facilities are recreational and informative to public.

The project includes construction of photovoltaic capacity of 36 kWp, wind turbine capacity of 15 kW, diesel capacity of 25 kVA, battery bank capacity 288 kVAh, hybrid power controller capacity of 25 kVA, the system data acquisition, weather stations, processing of biofuels capacity of 500kg/batch and control center.

Technopark also set up a system of sea wave power plant, the central processing sea water into fresh water, processing of biodiesel made from used cooking oil, castor beans, sewage treatment and multimedia information center to support the implementation of renewable electricity in remote areas.
