Tinuku ~ De Kendhil Resto in Yogyakarta build boutique restaurant concept from the traditional terracotta pottery Kasongan and banana leaf implemented into the details of the design theme of classical architecture, interior and exterior, the decor, tableware and food menu.

De Kendhil Resto is located at Jl. Kaliurang Km 5, Yogyakarta presents the concept of indoor and outdoor restaurant in a very unique design theme that is implemented on a combination of classical Javanese culture style interiors and contemporary architecture.

The guests will be greeted by a row of kendil pottery traps stacked on metal rack large semicircular as a work of installation art. When go deeper inside, visitors are greeted with live cooking demonstrations in the kitchen are deliberately placed in front of the restaurant.

Kendil is pottery for cooking in the form of pot or pan in the traditional culture of Javanese society. Kendil made using clay material and spherical, the process should be burned at high temperatures to condense the material and finally blackish color.

Kendil more healthy as eating tableware than metal and plastic material. Pottery equipment is still being used by modern society in Yogyakarta, especially with increasing public demands on ecology-friendly equipment and back to nature lifestyle grade.

Two-storey building has a rooftop area as an outdoor restaurant and can be used also as a place to show or display the works of art on the stage in a corner. The restaurant also provides a meeting room to accommodate more than 40 people.

Front building wall using white sandstone, while the right side building walls using piles made of terracotta clay roster to improve air circulation. Artistic wall combined with glass material as an indoor room divider.

Designers build indoor and outdoor installation art in the form of fountain on a pond below. Three kendil fitted lined and spilled water into three buckets pottery before the water into the pond. The main building has exposed brick terracotta plant at the peak.

A very large wooden table and sized rectangle in the middle of room to put collection of foods that are packed in the traditional dish. Right around the table is classic tile floors decorated colorful flower pattern arranged as the art of patchwork.

Plain interior roof without using cover to deliberately expose construction in the form of wooden logs crosswise as foothold tile. Chandeliers shaped bird cage surrounds the bulb to illuminate the interior with an artistic way.

Thin foods and drinks tea served using utensils of pottery. The designers put frangipani trees and various types aglaonema as a unity of design indoor and outdoor, works of wreaths and green umbrellas as outdoor shade.
