Blibli.com acquired Tiket.com

Tinuku ~ Blibli.com acquires Tiket.com. The e-commerce platform affiliated with Martin Hartono of the Djarum Group's owner family has acquired an online travel agent platform. Blibli wants to take steps to get into the online business travel agent deeper. This news has actually been spread since last May, neither side discloses the value of this acquisition.

"June 12, 2017, Blibli.com officially acquired 100 percent of Tiket.com," said Co-Founder Tiket.com, Mikhael Gaery Undarsa, in Jakarta, Thursday, June 15, 2017.

The acquisition was inaugurated with the signing of an agreement by Blibli CEO Kusumo Martanto and Tiket Co-Founder Gaery Undarsa. Blibli and Tiket share a common vision, mission, and company value. This makes Blibli optimistic synergy process both companies will run well.

"Tiket.com has a good track record of business because in a relatively short time growing into one of the largest online travel agents in Indonesia," said Martanto.

Blibli also announced the turn of top position in management. George Hendrata from Djarum Group became CEO of Tiket replacing Wenas Agusetiawan. The merger of two technology giants shows Blibli ambition in online travel agency services after previously launched travel product under the name Blibli Travel.

Online travel business is one of largest online business in Indonesia. The purchase of online travel services products reached 35 percent of total online transactions in 2016. E-commerce users estimated 3.4 percent total population of Indonesia, while Internet users in Indonesia reached 132 million people.

Negotiating two companies since 5 months ago. Martanto said it would support Tiket from all sides and hopes the two companies will grow 2.5 times in the second half of 2017. The services and management by Blibli and Tiket will continue to operate separately.

Blibli is funded by GDP Venture, while Tiket is one of the pioneers of online travel agents in Indonesia, the first company trusted by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) as a partner selling railway tickets outside KAI's official website.
