Tinuku ~ Jogja International Batik Biennale 2016 has presented collection of batik museums from around the world and find the uniqueness of each. The event being held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, 12-16 October 2016 featuring variety designs.

Batik Biennale exhibition displays 150 works. Fashion designer who has been having great attention to contemporary batik design is Afif Syukur in collaboration with the largest batik communities, Sekar Jagat, present to describe how to understand batik development.

Biennale 2016 held at Jogja Expo Center as trust predicate Yogyakarta city as the World Batik City granted World Craft Council (WCC). Themes Tradition for Innovation specifically presents collection of batik museum and to promote environmentally friendly process.

Traditional handmade textile passed down from generation to generation by applying dots and lines of hot wax on fabric presents typical pattern in accordance with the culture and traditions of each region.

Biennale also presents a painter who implements many batik tradition. Nasirun exhibiting paintings with designers Cirebon batik style , Pekalongan and others. The event also presents symposia, exhibitions, competitions, fashion walk, carnival and gala dinner on Boko temple.

International workshop was attended by participants from Africa, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia including on technology discovery with latitude batik dyeing color in some countries. Attending event President Word Craft Council Asia Pacific Region Ghada Hijjawi Qaddumi.
