Qualcomm introduced Snapdragon 660 and 630 mobile platforms

Tinuku ~ Qualcomm Technologies Inc. announces Snapdragon 660 and 630, technology companies showcase two new mobile platforms designed with advanced photography, impressive gaming experiences, integrated connectivity and machine learning technology to balance performance, cost and power.

The Snapdragon 660 and Snapdragon 630 mobile platforms are equipped with system-on-chip (SoC) features with baseband functionality, software components and hard RF front end, integrated Wi-Fi, power management, audio codecs and voice amplifiers as a comprehensive mobile solution.

"The launch of these two mobile platforms with superior features, such as improved image quality and fast LTE capabilities, is now available on a variety of devices without sacrificing performance or quality," said Kedar Kondap, Vice President of Product Management at Qualcomm Technologies Inc. in Singapore.

Seven special features of the Snapdragon 660 and 630 platforms include premium Qualcomm SpectraTM 160 ISP cameras to enhance the quality of photography featuring more natural skin tones, better shooting during low light conditions, higher power efficiency and higher throughput for dual camera smart phones.

"Some features like optical zoom, effects, dual pixel autofocus and video recording stabilization are one of the first premium features available in the 600 series. Software optimization also supports TensorFlow and Halide," says Kondap.

"Both platforms support Qualcomm's All-Ways AwareTM technology with support for the Google Awareness API. The Snapdragon 660 and 630 mobile platforms have the same architecture, and have compatible software and electronic sockets," says Kondap.

The connectivity features are equipped with a Snapdragon X12 LTE modem and use the latest SDR660RF transciever that supports downlink speeds up to 600Mbps which is claimed to be the latest innovation in the 600 series SoC.

The CPU and GPU features as the successor to Snapdragon 652 which has a 20 percent increase in Qualcomm® KryoTM 260 CPU and a 30 percent increase in Qualcomm® AdrenoTM 512 GPU performance to deliver a better gaming and multimedia experience.

"Quick ChargeTM 4 complements the latest innovations of Quick Charge technology, allowing up to 50 percent of battery charging in 15 minutes," says Kondap.

Qualcomm® Mobile Security provides security focus based on hardware protection, user authentication and mobile device validation. Machine learning features provide an immersive user experience with the Snapdragon Neural Processing Engine development kit.
