Netflix ambitious revolutionize traditional cinema into online

In April, Netflix announced it has more than 100 million subscribers as the world's largest video streaming service. The online cinema plarform company based in Los Gatos also brings significant profits and moves to provide the first platform to show premiere movies like traditional cinema.

On Monday Netflix announced it had earned US$2.8 billion in revenue in the second quarter of 2017 and made the company post a net profit of US$66 million. This income figure increased by about 50 percent from the same period last year.

The company founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph has surpassed the target by adding 5.4 million new subscribers in the second quarter of this year, which 1.1 million are from the US and 4.1 million outside the US. This data has far exceeded the estimated 3.2 million subscriber growth in the second quarter of 2017.

Now Netflix has a larger plan that provides channels for displaying premier content. They are signaling ready to get into the real movie business by providing the first platform service to deliver new movies just like traditional cinema has done.

"We understand the approach to the film by premiere on Netflix will stop longstanding Hollywood traditions, but when we change and reinvent the TV business by putting consumers as a priority and making the content so accessible," Netflix said in a statement.

"We believe Internet TV will revive the film business in a different way in the theater business and this year we will release 40 films from large to independent films," Netflix said.

Netflix has made great efforts and success in strengthening its services. They made a number of exclusive television series and proved well received by the market, such as Stranger Things, Daredevil, House of Cards, Jessica Jones, Black Mirror, to Narcos.

All of those titles have made Netflix the world's most popular video streaming service. Netflix is projected to continue to gain popularity and will be seducing movie businessmen in Hollywood for the premiere of their content on internet TV supported by a large customer base and it continues to grow.
