China's AT200 drones cargo made first flight

China's AT200 drone has made its inaugural flight on Thursday. The Institute of Engineering Thermophysics (IET) of the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) and other research institutes in China conducted the world's first unmanned test aircraft with a load of 1.5 tons. The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) completed the flight in Pucheng County, Shaanxi Province, northwest China.

CAS's Institute of Engineering Thermophysics has announced it has successfully flown AT200 for more than 26 minutes. Drones with maximum takeoff weight of about 3.4 tons, 1.5 ton load and holding capacity of 10 cubic meters will be one of the most powerful civilian UAVs in the world.

Unmanned aircraft has length of 11.84 meters and height of 4.04 meters. The engineers developed AT200 using P750XL utility plane technology, 8 hours battery capacity, maximum flying speed of 313 km per hour, mileage of 2,183 kilometers and altitude of up to 6,098 meters.
