Rinspeed introduces a vehicle design consisting of chassis and pods where each can be separated. The so-called 'skateboard' chassis platform contains technologies relevant to data processing as a smart and fully automated chassis as an electric vehicle.

The body structure called a 'pod' consists of long-lived modules because it will not wear out mechanically and contains long-term IT components that will not be out of date. A versatile pod gives users a special experience as a residence.

Rinspeed says most of the conventional IT components can not be renewed due to rapid software development that has made hardware obsolete quickly. Skateboards and pods will keep abreast of technological developments and needs.

Multipurpose pods for passenger transport, delivery service or weekend adventure trips with the whole family. Modules can also be used stationary as an urban office. Skateboards are designed to be completely recycled after the end of use.
