Lazada and Tokopedia dominate Google search in Indonesia for 2017

iPrice Group released an e-commerce competition analysis in Indonesia based on search data on Google, number of visitors, mobile apps and social media. Lazada, Tokopedia, Shopee, Zalora and Blibli have the highest search volume on Google Trends data throughout 2017.

iPrice Group released a 12 months back search growth data search where Lazada and Tokopedia are in first and second position as the most searched e-commerce for 2017. Both online retailers supported by Alibaba Group Holding Limited have dominated the attention in Indonesia as the largest market in Southeast Asia.

Tinuku Lazada and Tokopedia dominate Google search in Indonesia

Lazada who has an increase in shares by Alibaba from 51% to 83% doing some promotional events such as anniversary celebrations promo, single's day (11.11) and online shopping revolution campaign (12.12). While Tokopedia also made a big momentum such as funding by Alibaba of US$1.1 billion.

Shopee as a new player climbed to third position after going beyond Bukalapak's position. Many efforts are being made by Shopee to minimize the gap other top-ranking e-commerce that has been playing longer in Indonesia through the mobile shopping campaign strategy 10.10 and community empowerment to the sellers.
