Indonesia rolled out mail.go.id service for government apparatus

Indonesian government rolled out mail.go.id for the email service platform for civil servants. The Indonesian Minister of Communications and Informatics, Rudiantara, said the email service will be used by government apparatuses across Indonesia and ensure the security of where accounts and content will not be easily misused by others.

The Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Informatics on Monday announced the launch of a government email service aimed at all apparatus on the mail.go.id page. The service is a further development of the pnsmail.go.id service that has been used by over 93,000 apparatus.

Rudiantara said the service is intended for all employees in central and local government to be more efficient on the economic side. Local government has a small economic scale no longer need to create an email system with its own name that requires a large fee.

Mail.go.id uses a digital and encrypted certificate. Rudiantara also said the potential safety hazard if state officials use free email services and loss of use of international bandwidth access if using a commercial email platform.
