Astra International confirmed investment of $150 million for Go-Jek

Astra International officially confirmed on Monday that the company has invested Rp2 trillion (US$150 million) for Go-Jek. President Director of PT Astra International, Prijono Sugiarto, said the funding is their biggest investment in digital business.

The Indonesian conglomerate confirmed it had invested Rp2 trillion as their biggest investment in the ride-hailing industry. Go-Jek said the investment is also opening the door of cooperation with Astra in other fields, including in the business of vehicle financing.

This investment is part of Go-Jek's latest funding round, which is also followed by the participation of technology giant Google and Temasek. CEO of Go-Jek, Nadiem Makarim, did not want to mention the total funding of the three companies.

Previously, Go-Jek had funded in 2017 from Tencent and JD.com in unspecified amounts of money. Go-Jek had talked about possible investment by Djarum Group's GDP Venture, but CMO GDP Venture, Danny Oei Wirianto, said it was still in negotiation.
