"When you talk to liquidity providers, they all say the same thing, they want a physical futures contract to protect the value of exposure on the exchange," Coinfloor co-founder Mark Lamb said in Florida.

Cboe Global Markets Inc and CME Group Inc. have offered bitcoin futures, but they have cash in which crypto is actually not moving. Many proprietary trading companies and big investors have voiced concerns that the cash payment process can be easily manipulated,

Bad performers can try to move the price index or auction on the stock exchange that sets the futures price. Lamb said the first physical contract launch will be delivered in April. Coinfloor was founded in 2013 and runs the largest spot cryptocurrency exchange in London and other Gibraltar spot exchanges.
