Go-Jek officially launched Go-Viet service in Vietnam

Tinuku - Go-Jek's Go-Viet on Wednesday officially released on App Store and Google Play to operate in Vietnam. Indonesian unicorn startup has launched a ride-hailing service under the Go-Viet brand that operates in 12 different districts since July in beta stage.

"Go-Viet be live on August 1st at Apple App Store and Google Play. We expand to 12 districts and this will be Go-Jek's first operation outside of Indonesia," Go-Jek said.

Go-Jek will also launch service to Thailand using the Get brand. The founder and CEO of Go-Jek Nadiem Makarim at the end of June said a localized expansion strategy is intentionally done where local people are better understanding of market conditions, so as to meet the needs of audiences in their country.

"We believe each local team has the knowledge and expertise to ensure business success in Vietnam and Thailand," Makarim said.

The company said it would continue to consult with various stakeholders, including governments, drivers, and consumers. Go-Viet and Get will deliver online transport and logistics services to accommodate the inter-food messaging and electronic payment features.
